How safe is your money?

So, a Bank of New Zealand branch manager was caught 'robbing' his own bank! Just when you thought that 'actual' bank robbers was all you needed to worry about...you now have to keep an eye on the branch managers who open the accounts for you.

Might have to resort to what my Grandpa did and lock all his money in his safe!

Or like what my friends grandmother did and hid all her money inside her mattress. (She apparently cut a small hole in it and kept stuffing between $20 and $300 into it every week)

When she died, she left behind a WILL and gifted the mattress to her oldest grandson (my friend). Her children thought nothing of it and agreed. Upon closer inspection a few years later, my friend happened upon the hole and well he did what anybody would've done...he peaked inside and there was all that loot!

He never did tell me exactly how much was in there...but he gave me an approximate figure around the vicinity of $12,000. (There apparently were some U.S and Australian bills in there as well. LUCKY FELLA!)

Speaking of luck, I have a friend - she's from a quite well off family and is studying on scholarship to do her Master's - she's the most difficult person to buy presents for because quite seriously, she has everything already. Well, get this... she won the lotto!

I've had no luck with the mattresses so far.

Some people have all the luck huh? hehe.
